Canon Pixma TS8360 Setup Driver

Canon Pixma TS8360 Setup Driver – The Canon Pixma TS8360 Wireless Inkjet Multifunction Printer ($ 199.99) is a consumer all-in-one (AIO) photo printer designed for moderate use in the home environment. This six-ink machine produces not only great-looking photos, but also highly legible text of almost laser quality and detailed, precisely colored business graphics. It lacks a convenient automatic duplexer Editors’ Choice Epson Expression Premium XP-7100 Small-in-One but is otherwise a great home office companion.

Configuration and connectivity tasks, such as printing from SD cards or scanning to the cloud or printing from the cloud, are handled from the TS8360 control panel, which consists only of a power button and a 4.3-inch touch screen, shown here.

The TS8360, like more and more consumer AIOs today, supports voice activation via Amazon’s Alexa or Google’s smart home appliance assistant or via your smartphone from the app, as well as other platforms, such as Microsoft’s Cortana or Apple’s Siri, that support IFTTT ( If this is it then) scripting technology. In addition to the scripts that come with the TS8360, additional ones can be found and customized at IFTTT.com and several other sites.

Paper handling The TS8360 consists of 200 sheets divided between a 100-sheet front tray and a 100-sheet tray that can be pulled out from the back.

The rear tray can hold up to 20 sheets of photo paper (or smaller). There is also a tray that slides just above the main paper tray for printing labels on optical discs with a suitable surface. But this time, the CD tray is charged as a “multi-purpose” tray that supports several different types of media, including print nail stickers, magnetic and re-sticky photo papers, as well as 3.5 x 3.5 inches and 5-to-5 -inch square photo paper. The TS8360 automatically prints double-sided pages, and the flatbed scanner scans and copies photos and letter-size documents.

Furthermore, the 30-page output bin expands as needed – so your documents should never be wrapped on the floor.

Unfortunately, there is no automatic document feeder (ADF) for scanning and copying multi-page documents. In fact, to get an ADF from the TS-series Pixma, you’ll need to step all the way up to the TS9520 wide format. As mentioned, the Epson XP-7100 comes with a 35-page ADF.

Canon stopped posting a monthly work cycle and recommended monthly volume ratings on its consumer photo printers back a few years, although my guess is that the TS8360 should easily eject a few hundred pages each month without sweating.

Connectivity and software
Standard interfaces are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy), connection to a single computer via USB 2.0, PictBridge Wireless for printing from compatible Canon cameras and a memory card slot for printing from SD cards. In addition to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, mobile support consists of Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Mopri or the Canon Print app.

In addition to the standard AIO drivers that allow your computer or Mac to interact with the TS8360, the software package includes the following programs and utilities: Scan Utility (a fairly robust scanner interface); Scan Utility Lite (macOS only, reduced iteration of Scan Utility); Simple PhotoPrint Editor software (for editing and enhancing photos); My Printer (Windows only, to monitor and make changes to your printer configuration) A network tool (to monitor and configure your network to work more efficiently with your printer); Quick menu (a set of shortcut icons that are displayed in the lower right corner of the screen by default and allow quick access to most of the features listed here).

You can also get Easy PhotoPrint Editor as a mobile application that allows you to correct and enhance photos you take with your mobile device without transferring them to your computer.

Also included in the package is a Canon print message, which allows you to embed hidden messages, such as animations, text, music, video links, and so on, directly inside the image. Friends, family, or coworkers can download and install the app, and then simply hold the cameras of their mobile devices above the image to discover your custom messages or open the links contained in the photos.

Timing TS8360
Canon rates the TS8360 at 15 ppm for monochrome pages and 10 ppm for color pages. To confirm these speeds, I tested it via USB from our standard Intel Core i5 test computer running Windows 10 Professional. During the first part of my test mode, the TS8360 printed our standard Microsoft Word test document at 12 pages at 15 pages per minute, which matches its rating. That result is approximately 1.5 ppm faster than its sibling TS9120 and predecessor TS8220. Epson’s XP-7100 also printed the document at 15 pages per minute, and HP’s Envy 7155 managed 1 page per minute.

For the next test, I printed several vivid and complex Acrobat business documents, Excel spreadsheets and charts and graphs, and PowerPoint brochures featuring business graphics and various fonts in several different colors and sizes. I then combined these results with the result from the previous 12-page text document test and came up with a result of 5.1 ppm, which was slightly faster than both the TS8220 and TS9120, 1.5 ppm slower than the XP-7100 and 1.3 pages per minute faster than the HP 7155.

The TS8360 printed our pair of vivid and detailed 4 x 6-inch shots in an average of 29 seconds, which was close to a few seconds for most of the other models mentioned here, except that the HP 7155 was 44 seconds slower for a few seconds. Between 30 and 60 seconds is roughly the average for printing images among these consumer photo printers.

Pixma Imaging Excellence
Few AIO cameras for consumers are rated and printed, as are the six-ink Canon Pixmas, especially photos and graphics, and the TS8360 keeps that tradition. It also prints well-formatted and highly legible text, and the graphics come out without noticeable streaks or streaks. The colors and gradients are brilliant and precise.

But the TS8360 is the first photo printer, and it shows. The 4- to 6-inch and 8 to 10-inch test photos I printed showed vivid colors and impressive details, competing only with Canon’s other five- and six-ink Pixmas and Epson’s Expression Premium five- and six-ink AIOs, such as of the aforementioned XP-7100.

High running costs
Like most other consumer photo printers, the TS8360 is expensive to use. Depending on what you print, monochrome pages will cost between 4 to 6 cents and color pages 15 to 17 cents. Photos with 100 percent ink coverage can cost significantly more. But this is not exclusive to Pixmas. Epson photo printers with a similar price, including the previously mentioned XP-7100, cost about the same as the TS8360.

HP’s four-ink printers (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black), including the Envy 7155, are devices that support Instant Ink. If you enroll them in a company’s Instant Ink subscription program, you can spend just 3.5 cents per page.

Six-ink pixels like the TS8360 cost significantly more than many comparable models, but few ink cartridges are also available, making this a classic example of getting what you pay for.

If superior output is what you’re looking for in a complete home office, the Pixma TS8360 will serve you. Although not cheap to use, it gives exceptional documents and photos on a respectable clip. If you frequently scan or copy multi-page documents, you’ll need to check the Epson Expression Premium XP-7100 Small-in-One, which comes with the automatic two-way feed (ADF) that this Canon model lacks. Otherwise, the TS8360 is a great option if you’re willing to pay for quality output in the long run.
